As part of our efforts to mainstream diaspora expertise in development, we run an intership programme, open specifically to self-identifying diaspora youth based in Europe, with heritage in our partner regions Africa, Asia, Latin America & the Caribbean, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East, and the Pacific. There are two positions open for internships starting in September 2021.
We are currently looking for two driven individuals to follow in the footsteps of our current interns, Gia and Naomi, joining the EUDiF team from 1st September for a period of four months. The deadline to apply is 4 July 2021.
There are two positions available, working on different streams of EUDiF activities, but with a lot of collaboration and plenty of opportunities to experience all elements of the project. Full details on each position and how to apply can be found on the ICMPD application portal, via the following links:
We truly believe in the dynamism of youth actors in development, and the importance of mainstreaming diaspora expertise. The internship is designed as an opportunity to gain experience in an international organisation working on migration and development.
Whilst the tasks for each position vary according to EUDiF activities during the internship period, we work with interns to understand what skills they are particularly keen to build and try to provide as many learning and growth opportunities as possible. In the penultimate month of their internship, working together Naomi and Gia took on the task of designing a session during the Future Forum and putting it into action. The session brought together a diverse panel for a very poignant and dynamic discussion on trust and identity within diasporas; it was a big success.
