Vote abroad campaigns

Through the National Electoral Institute (“Instituto Nacional Electoral” [INE]), Mexico promotes and encourages the diaspora to vote and has developed some campaigns in order to facilitate the registration and voting of Mexicans abroad, including a website enabled for this purpose. INE implemented an online voting system that allowed eligible voters to cast their ballots remotely using a web application. Additionally, electronic voting kiosks were available at 23 embassies and consulates across the United States, Canada and Europe.
