Strengthening Diaspora Human Capital through Technical Certification

Led by INFOTEP in partnership with the Instituto de Dominicanos y Dominicanas en el Exterior (INDEX) and diaspora organisations, this initiative provides technical and vocational training and certification opportunities to Dominicans abroad. The programme responds to strong demand for formal certification, particularly in sectors such as beauty and barbering, where recognised qualifications can improve access to licensed employment and income opportunities. The initiative includes both in-person and virtual training modalities and has expanded since 2022, reaching participants across different countries. It also aims to reduce the high costs of certification faced by Dominicans abroad while supporting their economic contribution through improved skills and employability.
