In 2023, Mali’s Ministry for Malians Abroad initiated a programme to construct 600 social housing units for diaspora members. The first batch of homes was delivered in the first half of 2024. This initiative aims to encourage diaspora investment in Mali’s housing sector and provide tangible benefits to returning citizens.
