SmartMobileClinic – Expanding telehealth services in rural communities in Cameroon

Country flag
Africa-East
2025

The project aims to expand telehealth services in rural Cameroon by improving access to quality healthcare through a digital platform that enables healthcare workers to collect, manage and share patient data, ultimately supporting better treatment and more effective health system planning. Led by the German-based diaspora organisation Mapubi e.V. in partnership with local actors such as the Health and Research Organisation Cameroon (HERO), it combines capacity-building for healthcare workers, rural outreach campaigns and technological upgrades, including AI-driven features, to strengthen service delivery in underserved communities. In this context, the diaspora organisation plays a key bridging role, mobilising international expertise, skills and networks to facilitate knowledge transfer and co-develop sustainable, locally relevant healthcare solutions.
