Same-day birth registration for Honduran dual citizens

Through its 13 consultates throughout the United States, the Honduran government has implemented direct birth registration procedures to facilitate dual citizenship for minors born to Honduran parents in the United States. Following the termination of the Temporary Protective Status (TPS) in September 2025, the initiative aims to expedite administrative processing – which previously exceeded seven months – and mitigate deportation risks associated with documentation deficits.
