Remittances Household Survey (RHS)

Within the government’s framework for diaspora participation in national development, the first-ever Remittances Household Survey (RHS) was launched in 2025 by the Central Bank of Kenya in collaboration with the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics and the Financial Sector Deepening Kenya (FSD Kenya). The RHS aims to collect information on remittance flows into and out of Kenya, both in cash and non-cash forms, and through formal and informal channels. It also examines the use of remittances, as well as the the costs/fees associated with receiving or sending money or non-cash gifts.
