As part of the Pacific Language Weeks series, supported by New Zealand’s Ministry for Pacific Peoples, Papua New Guinean diaspora hosted their first celebration of Papua New Guinea Pidgin Language Week in November 2024 to strengthen their sense of belonging to their heritage. For 2025, this event will be held between 7 and 13 September 2025 under the theme ‘Lukautim, strongim na kirapim tokples na pasin blo tubuna – Preserve, revitalise and promote our language and culture’.
