National Dialogue on Migration

Organised by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with the Government of The Gambia, it focused on strengthening migration policies and promoting regular pathways as a tool for development. The dialogue highlighted the importance of engaging Gambians abroad as key partners in development by leveraging their remittances, skills and investments. The dialogue also emphasised the need for structured and safe migration channels that enable diaspora contributions, improve labour mobility and strengthen connections between migrants and national development priorities, positioning the diaspora as an essential resource for economic growth and resilience.
