Issuance of 10-year biometric passports to the diaspora

In 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs authorized the issuance of 10-year biometric passports to all members of the national community abroad, including individuals with irregular legal status. This initiative is designed to mitigate persistent administrative challenges in host countries by providing the documentation necessary for the regularisation of residency and the facilitation of essential administrative functions, such as opening a bank account.
