With two online editions of the Future Forum under our belts, we are delighted to announced that the third edition of the Future Forum will take place on 17 – 18 October 2023 in Brussels, Belgium. The whole EUDiF team is thrilled to finally bring our community together in person to explore the lifeblood of diaspora engagement: partnerships.
Partnerships create win-win situations with possibilities for all partners to apply their strengths and grow in other areas – Freedanz Ferdinandz
What to expect?
The Future Forum is the annual flagship conference of the European Union on diaspora engagement. The 2023 edition will be a unique multi-stakeholder collaboration space to:
- Network with actors across sectors and regions;
- Debate partnership practices and lessons learned;
- Celebrate diaspora engagement for development.
Further information on the programme of the Future Forum will be shared soon. Should you have any suggestions on the elements of partnership to discuss, or interesting practices to share, do not hesitate to contact the team via eu-diaspora@icmpd.org
Who will be there?
The Future Forum will gather participants representing the diverse diaspora development ecosystem: diaspora organisations, partner countries, non-government actors, the EU and its Member States.
Attendance is limited to 150 in order to maximise experience sharing and networking. EUDiF invites all those interested in attending to pre-register by 7 April 2023. Following a selection process, personal invitations will then be sent.

On the road to the Future Forum
This year, we are working with an Advisory Committee, made up of diaspora, regional organisation and government representatives. The Advisory Committee serves as a focus group to ensure we design an event that is meaningful for all members of the diaspora-development ecosystem. Together, we will discuss and refine everything from session format to content and speakers. EUDiF is very grateful to work with this passionate group of diaspora-engagement practitioners.
