The Patriotic Support Fund was launched in 2023 to respond to emergencies and support the national counter-terrorism strategy, through resources from voluntary financial contributions from individuals and legal entities residing in Burkina Faso and the diaspora. Resources are collected through various methods, including direct payment, deductions and pre-financing and are deposited into an account in the public treasury. In the first half of 2024, the Fund was able to collect more than 86 billion FCFA.
